Wagyu Steakhouse Burger will be available at participating locations through July 31
Arby’s has announced the release of a brand new menu item the fast food restaurant is calling its “Wagyu Steakhouse Burger.”
The burger will be the first of its kind and contain a single 6.4 ounce patty made up of 52% American Wagyu and 48% ground beef, according to Arby’s.
Arby’s Wagyu Steakhouse Burger will also come with American cheese, special sauce, tomatoes, pickles, red onions, and shredded lettuce.
Restaurant goers may also choose to add bacon and ranch to the burger, according to Arby’s.
“Boring burgers are a fast-food staple, so Arby’s felt compelled to raise the bar with a Wagyu steakhouse burger. Instead of focusing on making billions of mediocre burgers, we’re taking a stance on high-quality meat that deserves to be cooked properly,” said Arby’s CMO Patrick Schwing.
Arby’s says the meat for the Wagyu Steakhouse Burger will be prepared by placing the beef in a vacuum-sealed pouch which slowly cooks it as it sits in a temperature controlled water bath.
Once fully cooked, the hamburger patties will have a slightly pink center and a crispy outside edge.
“As the meat experts, we’ve spent over two years of dedicated research and development to deliver a premium burger that redefines what’s possible from a drive thru. Overdone burgers are over and done,” Schwing said.
Consumers will be able to purchase Arby’s Wagyu Steakhouse Burger starting on May 23 at select participating restaurant locations around the U.S.
Arby’s says the burgers will be available through July 31 and have a starting price point of $5.99.
The introduction of a new menu item is in line with the recent trade for Arby’s, which previously unveiled its Diablo Dare sandwich at the beginning of the year.
