How to point/transfer my domain name from Aruba?

If you have a domain managed at Aruba, but you want to point it to your SiteGround account, there are two ways to do that.

  • Change the name servers of the domain. This will point the web service, mail and change the active DNS zone to the one at SiteGround. To change the name servers, login to your Aruba account, then click on Control Panel. Find the Utility Domain section, then choose the DNS management and Name servers tool. Under the Record Name Server section choose Use Other Name Servers and enter the name servers for your SiteGround account. Keep in mind that it might take up to 48 hours for the DNS changes to propagate.
  • Update the A record for your domain. This will point only the website to SiteGround. To do that, log in to your Aruba account, then click on Control Panel. Find the Utility Domain section, then choose the DNS management and Name servers tool. Click on Manage under Record A. Change the main A record marked as empty to point to your SiteGround IP address. Find the www record and change it as well to point to the same IP address. Keep in mind that it might take up to 48 hours for the DNS changes to propagate.

To transfer your domain name from Aruba to SiteGround, log in to your Aruba account, then click on Control Panel. Find the Domain Utility section there and choose Block/Unlock Transfers. Click Request and you will be redirected to a new page. On that page, you can Unblock domain and send Authorization code or Send Authorization Code by clicking on one of the green buttons. The request should be honored by Aruba within 2 working days.

Once the domain is unlocked and you have the Authorization code, request the domain transfer from your Client Area > Services > Domains > Transfer.
